Data Center World Video Interview Series – Brendon Hill on Data Center Decommissioning

This past March, Lifeline Data Centers attended the Data Center World in Las Vegas and conducted this Data Center World Video Interview Series with some of today’s most skilled and knowledgeable data center experts.

We interviewed Brendon Hill, the Executive VP of Business Development for Dave Goerke & Associates (DGA), a full-service data center and IT consultancy company.

In this video, Brendon explains the unique approach that his company takes when helping clients with data center commissioning. He walks us through DGA’s step-by-step approach, ensuring that DGA truly offers the client the best value, because their main objective is to give them a “high return on investment. Our goal is to keep the project cost low so it’s a success.”

When asked what companies need to think about when they’re migrating, Brendon said that there are multiple factors that should be considered. First, a company must ensure that they can still fully function during the migration. Also, the speed of migration should be disclosed ahead of time and having a clear plan and a clear budget from the very start is extremely helpful.

Brendon also shares with us his observations of today’s trends in the data center industry. He believes that the economy has been quite impactful in that larger companies are building physical data centers while smaller companies have been stalled for the past two to three years. However, as budgets grow, we’re seeing more companies receive the resources they need to expand. “We’re starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel,” says Brendon.
