Lifeline Data Centers Announces Phase II Colocation Construction at Former Shopping Mall

INDIANAPOLIS, IN–(Marketwire – Oct 29, 2012) – Indianapolis-based colocation provider Lifeline Data Centers ( https://lifelinedatacenters.com ) is expanding. Due to significant demand, Lifeline today announced that the second phase of construction at Lifeline’s Eastgate data center on Indianapolis’ east side has begun. This expansion will add another 40,000 feet of data center facilities to the existing 50,000 feet of data center already at the 41-acre Eastgate campus. Together with Lifeline’s Henry Street facility, the second phase will brings Lifeline’s total data center space to 120,000 square feet — the largest in Indiana.

As a debt-free business, Lifeline serves hundreds of companies in health care, software, utilities, life sciences, cloud computing and government. The expansion will help Lifeline provide more companies with cost-effective data center facilities to improve uptime and control costs. Alex Carroll, co-owner of Lifeline Data Centers, said, “Lifeline is expanding because of the continued, sustained growth in demand for data center facilities in the Midwest.” Lifeline opened the Eastgate data center in May of 2009 and has filled the first phase of data center floor space in just over three years.

“Demand for colocation (outsourced data center facilities), continues to rise,” said Rich Banta, co-owner of Lifeline. “We build highly reliable data centers, and companies are buying nearly as fast as we can build them.”

In addition to data center facilities, Lifeline also provides secure office space at the Eastgate campus. Lifeline is one of only a few data centers in the United States to offer secure office space on the same campus as high-availability data centers. Companies and government entities are using Lifeline’s secure office space for primary office space, disaster recovery workspace, and IT outpost space. Lifeline has leased or committed to 183,000 square feet of secure office space and has another 155,000 square feet available.

Lifeline Data Centers ( https://lifelinedatacenters.com ) is a “high-tech landlord,” a wholesale and retail colocation provider. Lifeline builds tornado-resistant data centers with highly reliable power, cooling and telecommunications. Companies use Lifeline’s data center colocation facilities to house their primary or secondary data centers to avoid the expense of building their own.
