EPS Magazine Cover Story: More Than Just Another Data Center

As a leader in electrical components, Mitsubishi’s Electrical Products & Solutions (EPS) Magazine is the ultimate purchasing guide for electrical contractors. The magazine does a great job of providing valuable, relevant and timely information that can be used to make educated purchase decisions regarding anything electrical.

In the November 2016 issue of EPS Magazine, we were interviewed about our innovations in the data center field, which have included our optimal use of uninterruptible power supplies (UPSs) and the construction of our EMP-ready data center in Fort Wayne.

The number one priority of any data center is uptime, and an electromagnetic pulse poses a real threat to uptime. That’s why we decided to start construction on one of the first—if not the first—electromagnetic pulse (EMP) ready data centers in 2015, our 3rd location in Indiana and our flagship location. As described in the cover story, we are very selective about the equipment that is being incorporated into the facility, which includes the uninterruptible power supplies (UPSs). After a variety of experiences with different suppliers, we made the decision to partner with Mitsubishi and have not seen an outage since we’ve made the switch.

Managing Member at Lifeline Data Centers

Alex, co-owner, is responsible for all real estate, construction and mission critical facilities: hardened buildings, power systems, cooling systems, fire suppression, and environmentals. Alex also manages relationships with the telecommunications providers and has an extensive background in IT infrastructure support, database administration and software design and development. Alex architected Lifeline’s proprietary GRCA system and is hands-on every day in the data center.
