City Council Committee of Administration and Finance Approves Lifeline Data Centers Eastgate campus for DHS offices

Last night, the City Council Committee of Administration and Finance approved Proposal Number 102, which allows for the City Department of Public Safety, Division of Homeland Security to move their permanent office to the former Eastgate shopping center, owned and operated by Lifeline Data Centers. Councilors Ben Hunter and Mary Moriarity-Adams are the co-sponsors for this proposal.

This will be a tremendous asset to the east side and will help further contribute to the revitalization of the East Washington Street corridor.

Thanks to all the citizens who attended for letting the committee know that the neighborhood does in fact support the Public Safety office at Eastgate. Your support on Proposal Number 102, 2011, which would provide a strong public safety presence at Eastgate, a technologically updated Public Safety, and the Eastside expects this support from the City government, made a difference!
